Collaborated with external artists to design the lead characters.

A lost project, largely omitted from my CV. I'll share the tale anyway, as failures can sometimes be powerful growth opportunities.
I relocated to Barcelona, excited to work on the game. In my second week there I managed to randomly sever a nerve, leaving me unable to use my right arm and in constant excruciating pain.
Between hospital visits, resting and dealing with a close relative dying, I intermittently made it to the studio and managed to direct a few aspects of the project. After a couple of months, recovery wasn’t happening quickly enough for the studio leadership, and we parted ways.
Even though our interactions were short lived, the art team were lovely and I wish I could have landed the project.
I have to be zen about such experiences. It was just bad luck. Before this disaster, I placed great weight on certain fears. Afterwards, I understood I can navigate and survive massive problems and it diffused these fears.
