The Nitrome studio had a simple yet efficient model - an artist and a programmer would build a Flash game in 3 to 6 weeks, depending on complexity.
We handled everything, including level design. The games were arcade or puzzle-based, and by reusing code and techniques from previous projects, we were able to grow more ambitious without extending development times.
Although orientated towards a young audience, the gameplay became incredibly creative at times. I’m still amazed at how sophisticated some of the games became - a few of mine even won Flash awards. And getting character drawings from young fans was enchanting.
I’d love the chance to apply my arcade game design skills again.
